Doors are still opening and closing

Today was a good day, with a bit of an update!  One of the places that I was feeling led to look into contacted me and let me know that they do not have a place for me to serve.  It was good to hear, because that means that God is closing doors, and is going to direct me to where He wants me to be!  Meanwhile, another place that I was thinking about closing the door to, but hadn't yet, contacted me, and the director is going to be in town next month.  So, we are going to meet for coffee and talk a bit about what is happening there.  God is at work!
On a side note, by the end of the night, my application with SIM should be finished.  I just have to send in my health form.  I've had some troubles finding my immunization records and losing the work that I had done on my health form and such.  But it is all together now and ready to go!
So, the adventure awaits!  God is still moving, and I am still listening!

Fundraising...or lack thereof.

So, I am patiently awaiting the weekend that I can have a garage sale and
1.  Make money for my African trip
2.  get my garage back!
After such a beautiful Summer and Fall, I am quite amazed that we keep getting rain on Fridays and Saturdays.  It's amazing, because the rest of the week is incredibly dry and gorgeous!  But come "garage sale days" it's wet!  Or at least the weather report tells me it's going to be wet!
So, I have a garage full of goodies, and a new plan!

October is going to be Scentsy Month!  I will be hosting a Scentsy party on October 27, 7:00 at my home.  All proceeds will go to my African mission trip.  It's never too early to start Christmas shopping!
Live too far away?  Go to my website, and you can buy through the party

November 2-3 will be garage sale #1 (weather permitting)
and November 9-10 will be garage sale #2 (weather permitting)
This actually might work a little better!  There is no school November 9 or 12, so who knows, I may have more shoppers those days!  So, please keep Oregon's weather in your prayers!

In the meantime, a lot of people are asking how they can donate to my trip.  My church is extra awesome, and has started an account for me, so that you can make tax deductible donations.
Send your checks with a note that says "Carly's African mission trip" to:
Hillsboro Presbyterian Church
172 NE 32nd Ave
Hillsboro, OR 97124

Thank you all for your prayers and support!
Carly

PS, an update on where I'm going...my application is in to SIM.  References are done, but I am waiting to find a copy of my immunization records.  This is much harder than I expected, so please keep this process in your prayers.
I have also contacted Living Water International, just to see what is out there.
So, please keep praying for doors to open and close, and that God will lead me to where He wants me to serve!
