Application is in!

Well, that was exhausting!  But I finished!
My application for SIM (Serving In Mission) is finished, and has been submitted!  Now, I just sit back and wait for the next step, which should be health information.  I haven't notified the other mission group that I was applying with yet, because I wasn't completely sure on which way I should go.  But lately, I feel like SIM is it.  If I am accepted, I plan on going.
Please pray for me as I make the final decision on if I should close the door to this other place.
As for now, I'm going to go outside and enjoy this beautiful day, knowing that one thing has been marked off of my "to do" list!  Thanks everyone for your support!
And for fun, here's the picture I decided to submit with my application.  It was a hard decision of what to send, and trying to find a picture of "Just me" that is recent?  Way more difficult than I thought!  I didn't think I should send the pictures of me covered in shaving cream!
So this is what I went with!  From my trip to the Holy Land!

Application

So, my pre-application was approved by SIM, and I am now working on my full application.  Please pray for me as I go through this process.  It's tough getting to the nitty gritty.  One thing about SIM is that their long term and short term missionaries all go through the same process, so it's hard to answer such big questions, knowing that I will be gone for such a short time.  But it's worth it.  I'm getting more and more excited to see where I end up!

This time for Africa

This is a blog to keep you all posted in what is happening with my African journey!  I know that we are a year out, but I also know that people are interested, and want to be a part of this process!  So I ask you to join me in prayer as I continue on this journey!
I felt the call to take an extended mission trip back in April.  My church has approved this adventure, and is being incredibly supportive of this call.  I feel called specifically to Africa, and for a time period of two months.  Where am I going?  I don't know.  I am in process of the application process with SIM.  I have also been accepted to work with Village of Hope in Uganda.  Please pray with me as I try to listen to God's call, as I try to hear where He wants to send me.

The call was a long time coming, but finally hit me like a brick during a Zumba class at my church.  Shakira's song "This time for Africa" came on, and has since become my theme for this endeavor.

WAKA WAKA!
